The Concept

Over the past few years, companies like Groupon and Living Social have really captured the public’s desire for finding great deals, with a variety of interesting items at a low prices. These deals generate excitement around the item for sale, the website and the brand. However, when it comes to investment quality diamonds, no one has had both the creativity and inventory to bring the deal of the day concept to life, that is, until now.  Arpège Diamonds is selling one diamond each and every day at an incredible price!

How Does It Work?

It is literally this simple… Each business day, one investment quality colored diamond is showcased on the Arpège Diamond web site. If you like the deal, you call (or use online chat) and you make the purchase. That’s it. This is a first come, first served process. One diamond deal is available for each day. If you are interested in receiving a daily email announcing each deal, you can sign up here.

Why Specialize in Pink Diamonds?

There are a number of reasons from scarcity to sheer beauty. Currently, roughly 90% of the world’s pink diamonds are found in the Argyle mine located in East Kimberely, Australia. However, only one out of every 10,000 diamonds mined at Argyle are pink. So, they are very rare indeed. This rarity is compounded by the expected closure of the Argyle mine around the year 2020, which is only a few years away.

Let’s put this in perspective. The mine opened in 1983. Each year a collection of their best diamonds are offered at a sale called the Argyle Pink Diamond Tender. The event is invitation only and is considered an exclusive highlight on the diamond industry’s calendar. In October 2014, Rio Tinto showed 54 rare pink and red diamonds, achieving the highest price per carat since the tender began 30 years previously.  The 2015 Tender, known as the “Connoisseur’s Collection,” was comprised of 65 diamonds weighing a total of 44.14 carats. Looking toward the future, Rio Tinto has estimated that there are less than 500 tender quality Argyle pink diamonds left to be discovered in the mine.
